YOUTH SERVICES

Youth services is a focused subgroup of community service and in most years is the largest recipient of funds donated by the Orange Club.

Projects include:

Awarding scholarships to college-bound high school seniors who live in Orange

Providing funds for STEAM projects at Amity Regional High School, integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and math / medicine topics

Sponsoring a public speaking competition based on Rotary’s “Four-Way Test” for students attending Amity, addressing truthfulness, fairness, goodwill, and reciprocal benefit for a topic of current interest

Providing funds for Rotary youth leadership development programs for select high school students at Amity High School and all middle-school students at Saint Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven,

Providing funds for community projects undertaken by prospective Eagle Scouts from the area,

Supervising satellite Rotary Interact clubs for students at Amity High and Saint Martin de Porres schools, as well as an online community Interact club joining students from Amity, Hamden Hall, and Hopkins high schools

Visiting Orange’s three elementary schools to provide dictionaries & reference guides to all third graders and readers that introduce Rotary’s Four-Way test to second grade students

Sponsoring supplemental mental health and wellness programs and additional clinical support for students attending Orange elementary school and their families.
